CEO: Russia’s DIA can ask central bank for loan in September
MOSCOW, Jun 8 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA) will most probably ask the central bank for a loan in September if at least one more bank in the country goes bankrupt, Director Yury Isayev told reporters Monday.
“We will not ask the central bank (for a loan) in September at all if no insured risk fulfills. If at least one does, we will ask… most probably, we will go for money,” Isayev said.
The DIA will soon pay a record high insurance of about 37.6 billion rubles to 59,300 clients of bank Transportny, whose license was recalled by the central bank on May 20.
